WHAT THE WORLD WROTE:

?The compiling of the works of Carl Nielsen is a very needed service to the trombone and tuba players of the world, professional and students alike. I shall be proud to add these to my library?.
Edward Kleinhammer
Bass-trombone (retired)
Chicago Symphony Orchestra

?Professor Per Gade is to be highly complemented on his fine work, His excellent editing make the intentions of the composer very clear. Every student and professional should get together with his colleagues and play this books?.
Allan Ostrander
Bass-trombone (retired)
New York Philharmonic Orchestra

?Per Gade has issued a handsome as well as informative set of Orchestral Studies of the works of Carl Nielsen. Seldom before have I seen a practical playing edition of just about anything so well produced. The editing is excellent, the print exceptionally good and the inclusion of information concerning the first performance of each work is a valuable feature. There are other features which will also be attractive to whoever uses these books for study?.
Hugo Magliocco
Editor: International Trombone Association?s Journal

?Professor Per Gade has performed a great service to all trombone students and professionals worldwide by ensembling the trombone and tuba parts of the orchestral works of Carl Nielsen, Denmark?s great composer. Not only is it useful to have made such essential material available, but also many detail misprints in the orchestra parts are now corrected?.
Denis Wick
Solo trombonist, principal trombonist (retired)
London Symphony Orchestra

?At last there are orchestral studies from the works of Carl Nielsen. Prof. Per Gade?s books is a wonderful addition to the trombonist?s library and the edition is superb?.
Ralph C. Sauer
Solo trombonist
Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra

?With many different publishers putting out excerpt books that often overlap in repertoire, it is nice to see Per Gade and Edition Wilhelm Hansen providing three volumes comprising the most significant works of Carl Nielsen. None of the works contained in the books can be found in any other collection. We can thank Per Gade for his hard work over many years to bring these volumes to fruition. The good news is that these books are excellently engraved with separate lines for each player and part. The biggest bonus is that editor Per Gade provided clear reference in the form of movement names and rehearsal letters/numbers for each reference. The 3 volumes is a must for any orchestral trombonist?s library?.
Douglas Yeo
Bas-trombonist
Boston Symphony Orchestra

?We are grateful to Per Gade for his initiative in publishing Carl Nielsen?s Orchestral Studies for trombone and tuba. For a long time these works have been missing in the growing literature on orchestral studies, especially now that Carl Nielsen is played all over the world?.
J?rgen Arnsted
Solo tubaist
Odense Symphony Orchestra, Denmark

?This edition by Per Gade is a excellent presentation with important information and comments, which makes one want to know the music better. This edition also corrects many errors to be found in the orchestra parts in use today?.
Benny Slushin
Editor, Brass Bulletin, Vol. 54, 1986
