Axel Jorgensen (1881-1947). (Editor professor Per Gade).
Romance. Op. 21. Trombone & Piano.
Details:
This Romance was the first trombone solo piece from a Danish composer ever printed.
It is from a time in music history where composers were interested in the strings and the symphony orchestra.
For that reason it is unique as a original trombone solo piece (not transcription) and a nice piece too.
Danish trombone virtuoso, principal trombone player at ?The Royal Danish Opera & Ballet? made first performance of this piece (with orchestra) in 1916.
The first print was in Paris a few years later in 1921 and is a nice romantic composition from the Romantic period in history. It was out of print for some 40 years until this new edition from 1982.
This edition from 1982 is the first print where all misprints and wrong notes has been corrected.
Its is based on 3 different handwritten manuscripts: two by the composer and one by Anton Hansen.
This piece is already well known and popular all over the world,
and has been recorded several times on CD?s by different trombone soloists in the world.
